Top Rope Belaying
Teamwork Elements: Trust, Effective Communication, Utilizing Newly Learned Skills,
Collaboration
Participants work in groups of three with a certified instructor to learn proper belaying
technique on our indoor boulders. Each person takes a turn as the climber, belayer, and
“backup”.
Blindfold Climbing
Teamwork Elements: Effective Communication, Active Listening, Strategic Planning,
Trust
Climbers wear a blindfold and have 1-2 team members direct them verbally to traverse
the wall. This activity focuses on fostering effective communication and streamlining the
transmission of information.
Slackline
Teamwork Elements: Critical Problem Solving, Collaboration, Developing Trust,
Commitment, Strategic Planning, Goal Setting
The goal of this activity is to get one participant to walk all the way down the slackline
with the assistance of all members of the group. There are four difficulty levels for the
group to attempt.
Autobelays or Bouldering
Teamwork Elements: Challenging Expectations, Overcoming Fear, Trust in a System,
Critical Problem Solving, Goal Setting
Participants will take on the 35’ walls on the outside deck and choose two personal goals
they would like to achieve by the end of the session. If the deck is closed due to weather,
each climber will pick a boulder problem indoors that is challenging for them.
Participants will work together to help each team member reach their goals
